Jace turned four months old last Friday. I can't believe how time has flown! He celebrated the milestone by rolling over from his tummy to his back for the very first time in the morning. And then, he really impressed me by rolling over from his back to his tummy as well! I could hardly believe he discovered how to roll both ways within the same day! Can you tell I am a proud momma?!?!?
We had our 4 month well-baby appointment with Jace's pediatrician yesterday. Here are his latest measurements:
- 14 pounds, 6 ounces (40th percentile)
- 24 3/4 inches long (50th percentile)
- Head circumference is 41 cm (25th percentile)
The doctor was very pleased with Jace's developmental accomplishments as well. At four months, Jace can:
- Roll from tummy to back
- Roll from back to tummy
- Smile and giggle at appropriate times
- Coo and babble
- Hold toys and rattles in one or both hands
- Reach with both hands
- Push his head and chest up off the floor when on tummy
Jace has also found his feet...and loves playing with them. He has figured out how to pull his socks off and throw them. He thinks it is a very fun game to play!
The pediatrician gave us the okay to start solid foods! We have tried rice cereal a couple of times so far, and Jace is just not so sure about it yet. We will stick with only rice cereal for at least two weeks and then introduce a vegetable...probably butternut squash. Cross your fingers that he isn't as picky as I am!
Derek and I have been very busy for the last couple of weeks house hunting. We are quickly out growing our apartment and decided we need more space. We narrowed down our favorite houses online and went to see a few of them. We fell in love with one in particular, showed our parents to get the final approval and submitted an offer all within a week. We came to an agreement with the builder, signed a contract and proceeded with our mortgage. Now we are packing and anticipating the big move scheduled to begin March 4! We couldn't be happier to be moving to a beautiful new home in Liberty...which will be closer to our family and friends!
